I have 2 twelve inch response compitition subs from jay car electronics. They are duel voice coil 4 ohms a coil and I need to know which is the best way to wire them both togther so they are still 4 ohm and I need to know the best box size.
Can sombody show me a few designs of push pull subwoofers? |

Wire the 2 coils on each driver in series, then parallel the drivers to give 4 ohms.
When you say push pull do you mean isobaric, or did you mean to say push push ?

Just build an appropriate size box... mount one driver on the front, and the other on the back with it's magnet sticking out -- wire them out of electrical phase (ie in acoustical phase). If the drivers are fairly linear you might just want to use them push-psuh.

If you want to go sealed, usually larger is better.
If you want to go ported, we need more information to help you.
If you're going isobaric, the box will be two times smaller, if you're going with normal push push or push pull, the box will be two times bigger. |
