TDA1541A / CS8412-CP wanted. Prepaired to buy / trade... - Click HERE for Original Thread

Would anyone sell these chips to me?

I am after 4 pcs. of TDA1541A and 4 pcs. of CS8412-CP. I can also trade excellent silver ribbon cables (6N, annealed) for internal wiring (signal and power), or for high end interconnects. Every serious DIY-er should try these ribbons!!!

It appears that NOS with CS8412-CP and TDA1541A is the latest fashion trend in DIY which apparently sounds very nice. I have modified CD80MKII + Air Reference DAC (something like that…made in France I think). The later uses one CS and one TDA chip. The sound was very good indeed, however not much better than dual differential 1704 combo I have in my (modified!) CD player. CD80MKII was outstanding CD player if I may say – just a notch dark and shut-in (has two TDA S1 chips).

I haven’t decided on circuit yet… 4 of each chips should be okay for whatever I decide (single, parallel, differential).

Thanks,
Extreme_Boky

I purchased some TDA1541A from www.mcminone.com
a few months back, they still stock them I believe.

the cs8412 has been superceeded by the cs8414 they are interchangeable except that the cs8414 is smt.

hope this helps someone

Amp-guy,

Did MCM show 0 in stock with a 70 day leadtime when you purchased? See this link: http://mcm.newark.com/NewarkWebComm...&Ntk=gensearch. Does this mean we are SOL?

Thanks,
Bryan

 I hope they are not "no longer available'
when I ordered they were in stock
70 days is not an unusual lead time for a semiconductor not in common use I have seen 9 months or more on some chip amps .
hmmm maybe I will check some other sources I have used in the past.

I haven't contacted them, and am not familiar with their policy. Had I not read your earlier post, I would think that if they do not have them in stock, they could not get them since the TDA was discontinued.

Let me know what you come up with... it would be nice to have a US source.

Thanks,
Bryan

I submitted an email inquiry as to MCM's stock, spelling out the four different TDA1541 chips, and got the following response:

"We carry the TDA1541. Unfortunately, these are currently out of stock, the ETA is 1 week."

Thus, I take this as saying they do not sell the TDA1541A. But if you want the TDA1541, then it may be an option.
