Ha Ha!
I found one Infinity Beta 300 from a guy in LA.
It is a very solid and powerful sounding amplifier indeed, an almost vice like grip on bass, the Q Bass thing is a total waste of time! and should have been left on the shelf.
the Q bass lose all detail and finess, lossing bass extension and real depth and replaces it with a lardy plumby bottom end.
Its probably the best Korean amplifier i have ever seen and heard to date.
Build quality is very good, very very good infact, my only complaint is this.
The power output has been over stated.
In mono operation it can give 680 watts into a 4 ohm load, not 1000 watts as claimed, this is the only problem, I dont know if it is really 2 ohm stable? as i dont have any information on the stability if used at 2 ohm in mono mode?
It does get rather hot after 30 minutes of really high power levels it could have done with some small cooling fans, at only 25p each.
All in all its a very nice and powerful amplifier but i need something with twice the power into a 4 ohm 82mm coil.
Now I have to find a JBL GTS600 to put it into a head to head with the Infinity Beta 300.
I think the JBL GTS600 will be the winner as from what i can remember it has more transistors and a slightly larger current draw of 70 amperes? and is a full range amplifier.
Anybody that has a JBL GTS 600 feel free to offer it up to me:) |
