Power IC "A210 K" ??? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Jennice
Hi everybody,

I came across a small power IC in DIL 18 or DIL20 housing, with permanently mounted heat sink on it.
It says "A 210 K" and "X9" on it, but I don't know it's specs. Does anyone know this thingy?
any help in finding a data sheet would be appreciated.

Thanks -
Jennice

The code sounds like an RFT chip (DDR). I seem to remember seing them in old German catalogues - I think it's a TBA810 equivalent.

Thanks for your suggestions.

It could seem like a 810 clone. I found the 810 datasheet - What a crappy chip :bawling:

My thought was to re-use it for speaker testing, but distortion is awful!

I also looked at the TDA2030 (as I don't need a lot of power), but it's no use over 10-15kHz.

Any suggestions for a chip that has better figures over the audio bandwidth? My idea was to make it simple and buy a chip-amp, but if it gets too expensive, I might as well build a discrete amp. I don't need a lot of gain (maybe x1 to x5).

you are gonna be shocked by my sugestion, as it have never been the subject of discussion in this forum, the lm1875. thats a nice litle power opamp, or offcource, the lm1876 if you are in need of stereo.

some TDA cips might be good choises as well, but i dont know of any at the top of my head, or you can try to get some opa548 samples from TI, they come in 7 pin to 220 pacs. quite nice really, got 5 of them :D

You are absolutley correct, it is a very early Chip Amp, an east german copy of the 810. They also made copies of the TDA2020 & TDA2030 called A2020 and A2030 respecively and an A109 Op-Amp is basically a uA709.

I fondly remember the A210K as being the first Amplifier Chip I ever used. The sound was BAD!

LM1875, LM3875.
