Hi,
last night, unsuccesfully trying to get some sleep:o , I had a small idea concerning Alephs current source.
What would happen if I added a diode to the resistor and capacitor that regulate the ac current source. If planted in the right way around this would allow the current source to deliver more current when needed (as usual) but it would not be allowed to turn of (as it does when ac current gain over 50%).
Any comments?

mmmmm no answers:(
What if I change the diode to an ideal one with no forward voltage and ad a bleed resistor so that the cap can unload?

It's been tried long ago and doesn't work well.
The current source will crank up, but it does so in
a non-linear fashion due to the nonlinearity of the
diode.
Go ahead and try it, tho. I won't hurt. |
