Are Blackgate PK series caps any good. They sure are cheap. Thanks.

Where is the best place to get Black Gate caps. Any of the big electronic houses have them? I've only found Michael Percy audio and one other one?

Do a google for them. There is a guy in Hawai that sells them cheaper than anywhere I have found.

Thanks Panelhead. Yes that Hawaii place was the "other one" I mentioned.

I've tried the Pk's in an SI and thought that they sounded pretty good, but in my opinion, the HI-Q's and N series are better. The 4.7 uf N series is probably the best bet because they don't produce the extreme turn-on sound effects associated with the larger value (22uf) Hi-Q's. There is still an audible pop, but not as loud. You can try www.partsconnexion.com as another source for BG's

Hi,

Could you tell me who the guy in Hawaii that sells the black gates is? Do you have a web address?

Thanks, Nick

Hi,

We're getting the ball rolling on a "Cardas Group Buy" Last year the response was good and we got some pretty good prices. That thread can be found at: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/show...&threadid=49013

Apparently, the manufacturer didn't want anyone posting the price online. So all prices were given directly to people in the group individually. Anyway, we started a wiki at http://www.diyaudio.com/wiki/index....s+Bulk+Purchase

Hopefully, we'll be able to generate enough interest that we can all save a lot of money. By the way, does anyone know how I can put a link in a post. I'm still pretty new to this site and don't know much about how to post.

Thanks, Nick
