Bridging, matching +, what impedance? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have my gainclone with 37.5vdv from the rectifier, so it is good for 8ohm speakers, but I want to try to put the two positives together and the two negatives together , kinda bridging to use it as a sub amp in my room for a little bit, I want to see how my sub would sound in my room. My sub is an e13kv.2 and has dual 2 ohm vc. I have them in a series to have 4ohm, but can my amplifier work when "bridged" on a 4ohm speaker?

Thanks,

Josh

what chip are you using?
edjosh23
this is for Brians new 3886

That's not bridging, it's paralleling. It will work, but you will need to put load sharing resistors on the outputs to avoid current hogging and "Bang!"

So pretty much I can't try out my sub in my room with my GC?

Thanks Guys

Im not sure about "brians new 3886" but it should work with the 3886 chip at 37.5 volt.

Try it with just one channel, it may be louder than you think. But make sure you have a decent heatsink!

Maybe you could use drv134 to drive the two positive and the two negatives
