Hi!
My name is Daniel and I live in the South of Germany.

I'd like to introduce myself with a picture of one of the systems I have been listening to in the past few years.

The philosophie of the various projects I've tried is always similar:

I've been looking for a way to combine a high efficient full-range with a bass-speaker and a super-tweeter WITHOUT any loss in the typical performance of the full-range unit.

How do you like this?

Hi Cal!

It's one of my other projects:
With a PHY-HP and a 360°-horn with an Fostex T945 and two 11" Woofers-sounds great!!
Very "open" and dynamic....
What a pity that you cant sent musical impessions by mail!!

Daniel,

I know how you feel. I just wish there were a way of letting others know how you feel about the projects you put together without drooling on the keyboard. Mind you, everyone's in the same boat. That's why I like the get togethers where you get to show off your stuff and listen to others hard work as well.

Hello to everyone out there!

Here’s another picture of one of the systems I’ve had the luck to try out in the past month.

I think the only way to make up your own opinion is to listen to various constructions without prejudice, just trust your ears!

The possibility to test speakers at home, in the environment you are used to and with your components, is a very important factor because the influence of the room shouldn’t be neglected.
If you ever had the experience to listen to the same speakers in two different rooms, you’ll know what I mean…
How often does it happen that the speakers that sounded so great in the dealers optimized room and have a very poor performance at home?

There is no perfect allround-system, and there will never be.

At least tastes are different…

So long

2nd try with the pics

Hi Daniel

Some nice setups you have there.
Is it possible to give some more info of the second one you posted.
(x-over points, type of woofer and horn driver)
I myself have a pair of Iwata horns but I'm still strugling to find a matching bass section.
On my website you can see how we made the horns. Go to "Projects">> "Speakers">> "Horns"

Cheers

Very nice looking again Daniel.

Hi GeWa!

Your horn looks as if it goes at least down to 300Hz!
What kind of drivers do you use?

In the system shown in the 2nd post I use a Eminence Magnum 15LF and a TAD TD-4001 (x-o at 550Hz 18dB/oct)
I have made very good experiences with an additional Super-Tweeter (T925/945) with a x-o at 15-18khz 6-12dB/oct.
It's very important to bring the tweeter into "the right phase".
