NEWBIE alert!!!

i just ordered 2 ucd400 modules from adireaudio to start building my first DIY audio project :)

can somebody point me to the right plitron transformer part# to use.

this is my current plan:

use a single 1000VA transformer and 2 sets of bridge rectifier for the +/- lines

and while you're at it can you please point me to the right rectifier diode and filter caps to use for this project, i'm not very familiar of the type/brand/part# of parts that are available.

i'll decide on the capacitor values to use once i get their prices

thanks a lot in advance,

angelo

Noob advice to newbie.
I would go for the one with 40 V AC secondary (in de standard range).

The 45 V AC is just on the edge of the allowable DC voltage. If you want a little more power, go for a 42V AC, but I don't see those at Plitron.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

thanks for the reply,

i keep on reading good things about the Rubicon BG caps,

10,000uF 63V (solder lug) $140.20
10,000uF 80V (screw leads) $168.68

these caps are expensive... is there another brand that's comparable to the BG if not better and cost a little less...

shld i go with the 80V, or the 63V should be enough for the UcD400 w/ 4 ohms speaker?

you can use softrecovery diodes : MUR860 , RURP860 ...
