i was wondering... in what way could i revitalize a burnt out lcd projector? i might be able to get my hands on one from school if they don't want it... don't know yet cuz they told me to give them a week to think about it...

all i know is that the lcd screen went up in smoke during class. one minute we were looking at java applets, the next smoke... so im thinking that the bulb is burnt out.

the thing is that new bulbs for that model i think cost around $600(my teacher told me)... a bit pricey. does anyone know if it would be possible to stick another light fixture in there and take out the old? or would i have to completely canablize it for parts and build anew...?

thanks! hopefully i will get this projector...
