i dont know how to take pictures in the dark. the camera that i am using now is a

dc280 zoom digital camera.

with only 2.0 mega pixels

use a tripod.

manual expose

fastest speed ( lowest number of f-stop)

try a couple exposure time between 1/2 s -1/30 s

use the self timer

I don't understand why people say only 2mp :) Its only amount of pixels... You can take nice pictures with 640X480..
If you have manual controls, play with exposure. Put it on timer, so when you press shutter you don't move camera and put camera on table or something and turn off flash.

The largest factor will be not moving the camera.

I've found that my camera is perfectly capable of taking a good image in dark lighting, but the slightest amount of movement will hopelessly blur the image.

Of course, for your projection pictures, you don't want ot use the flash. (Nice white wall you got there!)
