i used panel like wall panel for the sides... should i be worried about a fire hazard?

Well, it can get quite complicated, but a simple rule is that if a part gets too hot to hold in the hand for 30 seconds, then it should be made from something inherently fire retardant.

is there a way i can test if its fire retardent.. it was spare panel i had left over.

If it is fire retardant then it should have a UL or similar rating stamped somewhere on it.

Cut a small piece of it and torch it see if it burns :-) and if so how much heat does it require before it does...still worried, get some black stove paint from your hardware stuff I use is rated to 850 degrees...anything around 300-350 would be adequate...still worried, flash the areas exposed to direct heat with metal...and whack <---(not use of highly technical word for paint application LoL) a coat of the stove paint on that too...
Hope this helps |
