How to wire an electronic ballast? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Spudd
I have an EVC tech electronic ballast, which has 1 white wire, 1 black, and 1 green wire with a sticker covering it's end. The mogul base has 1 white and 1 black wire. Do I just connect the white to white and black to black? What about that green wire? Thanks.

Why don't you ask them?

I did, but I just got the ballast delivered tonight and it had no wiring instructions. I sent them an email a few hours ago, but obviously they had already closed.

Nm, got my answer.

Ok, I just deleted my post about it being safest to wait for the correct info, rather than messing around, as ballasts can be dangerous things! :)

Yes, I know. I'm one of those people who won't touch something until he's read the directions thoroughly. Hehehe. Thanks.

Btw, for anyone else in a similar boat, here was the answer I got from them:

The EVC Tech ballast has 3 wires. 1 white, 1 black and 1 green. The white hooks up to the mogul's white wire, and the black to the black mogul wire. The green wire on the ballast gets connected to your ground on the reflector.

Since we're building projectors here and not aquariums, can we just wrap the ground wire around the mounting screw of our reflector bowls? :hot:
