part2wanksta

How would you have used it then?

Maybe that is part of the backlight circuit, which you don't need anyway. You should try it, to see it it still works.

It may not have been anything you did. Sometimes plastic stuff just cracks after a while.

with that backlight thing broken you will not see any picture without shining a light through it. Also the psone lcd has no splash screen or anything you will need to power it up (obviously) and supply it with a image source before you will see anything other than a slight change in the blackness of the screen. Dont give up hope yet.

i think that peice controlls all of the power. because when i use to plug it in it would turn black and now it doesnt turn black and i dont get any sound or anything

and stocker it use to work before

i'm sure that piece is just for the backlight. the one i bought off ebay awhile back had the same problem, that piece was damaged and the backlight would not light up. but the LCD itself worked fine.

strip it and shine a flashlight (or whatever) through it and you will see.

unless something else got damaged too?

well i tried to me with the little circuts and no luck.

i went to the part that the power goes to and 1 time a got a black screen but only for a second. and never again so i dont know whats wrong

here is what i was messing with
projectile
that's the ccfl back light coil it really shouldn'y matter
firstly remove the ffc by gently opening the little brown retainer like you open a door..
then with the lcd separate poke a flat head all around the frame to get the bare lcd hooke it up againn and fire till the lcd is cracked there is hope
