Aleph X CRC Power Supply for 60 W amp - Click HERE for Original Thread
lgreen
I'm trying to build an Aleph X, about 60 Watts or slightly less, biased at 50% with 8 IRFP044 per channel. I'd like feedback on how to do this, from those that have done it already. Anyway, what do you think of this CRC power supply that I have simulated?

How many volts will I need at the PS output? Anyone else make a similar supply? I am not building a CLC as I have no source for the L.

John,

yours is similiar to mine, 4 x 68000uf + 2 x 4.7 uf + 0.22ohm x 2 per channel but 2 bridges. 28v unloaded and 24.5 loaded.

Get the AXE-1 spreadsheet from the Aleph X Builders thread to calculate the rail voltages you need.

Depending on the bias and the load 18 to 20 volts at the rail. Is this per mono block? How many VA transformer? Make sure the resisters will have some air flow and handle the wattage. The AX I built was a small stereo with 16.5 volt rails. It had a 15-0-15 VAC output 600 VA transformer. It was drawing 6-8 amps out of each rail depending on how hot I wanted to run it.:hot: :hot: :smash:
