I can't find any information on this lens other than it is from a Sharp Projector. I can't find anything on a X6-3500 projector either. Does anyone have any information on this lens?

I don't recognize the lens or what it's used for but you can test it yourself to see if it will work.
You need a transparancy or picture printed on white paper. Shine a light through the paper and then hold the lens up to the paper about 8 inches away and pointed towards a light colored wall. It's best if you do this in a dark room.
Move the lens in and out slowly until you see some kind of an image and then fine tune the distance until it comes into focus. The lens will work if it can image the whole transparancy. Make sure the trasparancy is the same size as the LCD you would like to use. Actually, plain white paper works just as well for this test as a transparancy so you can print up any image on your printer and the resolution doesn't matter.
Most lenses that have a focal length within the necesary length for a DIY projector will have a focal length of around 300-500mm.
This is not the same as the lens to image length but the lens will be roughly from 10-20 inches from the image.
If the image focuses when it is very close to the lens it will not work unless you use a very small LCD of 3-4 inches.
