Apexjr capacitors for gainclones? Which ones are good? - Click HERE for Original Thread

So, I'm trying to piece together a gainclone kit. I've seen a great, very cheap selection of raidal and axial capacitors at www.apexjr.com. I think I might purchase a few, but I on't know if some are better for audio. Some that I have my eye on are the following:

1000
35V
Electrolytic Sprague $0.50

3300
35V
Electrolytic Nippon/Chem-Con $0.50

1000 Mfd
50V
Electrolytic Nichicon $0.30

1000 Mfd
100V
Electrolytic Panasonic $0.45

2200Mfd
35V
Electrolytic ECI $0.35

I'm thinking that the Panasonic's would be a good choice, but, truthfully, I have no idea why.

Any input? Apexjr, are you out there?

Hi Nick-

Are you going to use a regulated pwr supply?

Are you going to have these caps next to the chip amp or in a central supply?

I would use at least the 50V caps on unregulated supplies.

I have been selling the 1000 uf 100V mostly and 1000 Uf
50V not as much, but both will work...

Hey Steve-

Have you had any luck in finding insulators for mounting the LM3886T's?

That is one of the few items that are impeding progress.

I'll try and call you tomorrow... I haven't looked...
