I'm looking to buy an amp for the cab of my car to clear up the sound when my cd player is on max with the level reducer at the lowest. and i did a little shopping around with nothing but confusion. actually contradiction.
I replaced the speakers thinking that it would fix the problem, only it sounds pretty much the same. i have Kenwood in the cab with 110w (one way) and 180w (2 way), from front to back. so i was thinking a 4 channel 400 or 600 max amp with 50 or 75 RMS.
is there even an amplifier out there that does only the mid's and high's, cause i can feel my rear trying to push bass.
actally i really dont care about how many watt's it has, but theres a catch, as long as i could fit it under my seat. I just want to get rid of this god awful distortion. |

Stay away from the Kenwood series of amps if you can, they have reliability issues and are not that well made or designed.
Just get a good amp for the speakers and set to high-pass to allow only freq above a certain threshold. Set the HP to where you want to keep the bass down.
