How Glass is made - Click HERE for Original Thread

Heya guys, i found this the otherday and it tells you the way glass is made, also along what they add into it to give it certain properties. From reading they add chemicals to lower its melting point. They mention (along with others) Borosilicate glass, pyrex and silica. Its got me wondering (for those who use the 400w bulbs) weather or not we should be using lenses with more silica content as silica has a higher melting point, but then again, its more prone to shatter.

Eitherway its an interesting read.
