dumb aleph question - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi All

Please pardon my ignorance ...

If one uses an aleph in unbalanced mode (ie: say one of active pins on input shorted to ground) are you effectivley using half the circuit , while the other half lies dormant - generating heat

Thanks
Blues
with an aleph p you still get balanced output but with an aleph amp you reference the -input to ground and work with just q1 with q2 still receiving the feedback. the output is still unbalanced as this is a single ended output design.

Me too I have a little question...
On the Aleph30 for exemple, why Nelson Pass protect the (neutral) and not the (live) wire ????

I understand this as the primary fusing.

Its enough to break one of the 2 power lines to interrupt current flowing ;)

dont care which one
