Hi im wondering if a car audio sub can be powered by a home audio reiceiver? If so are there any drastict effects?
I have researched thi and have reiceived different opinions in variuos places.

my home audio reiceiver is a Realistic Stereo Amplfier SA-1000A
It was made around '77 and has 150 watts (I think).

thanks in advanced.

I have considered purchasin two subs and forcing them into one speaker port to even out the ohms 4 ohms (power at which a sub is run with a car amp) + 4 ohms = 8 ohms (home reiceiver power)

Yes you can do it, but it's a good idea to have two in series to get 8 ohms.

But buying home audio subwoofers is a better idea.
