coral flat 8 enclosure question - Click HERE for Original Thread
then_dude
hello everybody,

i have just bought an coral flat 8

what kind of enclosure would i have to put it into ?

at http://www.eastmarinedrive.com/ you can see that the original enclosures for this kind of drive : closed or reflex.

but you can always put it in an back loaded horn, or maybe a TQWT?

what would you do ?
anyone experiences ?
(what would you do with an beta version ?)
thanx a lot
BTW
I've tried the Flat 8 in a Beta 8 box, 4 port, works very well indeed. I would expect the Flat 8 BR box, rectangular port, to work well for the Corals too. I recently heard a Flat 6 in a sealed box, doesn't extend that low but the bass clarity and Prat was excellent. Haven't tried BL horn and TQWT yet.
Taiga
I have a 8 flat II in a BL horn with excellent result. They have similar data as Fostex FE206 family and should do in similar horns. Since they seems to not be optimal in horn I think it´s a question of Your personal taste if other constructions like reflex boxes or TQWT is the choice. I have seen threads from lucky guys with good result.

Kind regards
