HI , does anybody use UV filter in DIY PROJECTORS?? The HQI bulbs emit a lot of UV rays, It isn't healthly for our eyes, I think, it is danger for us. In company projectors there are many filters.
What do you think about it??,Supposedly ordinary silicon glass is good Uv filter. Please help me .

Manny of us do, its all in the forum, please take the time to use the search function and you will be suprised at what you will find.

We not only use UV filters, but we also use bulbs that contain a UV stop filter built in.

I knew that there was a lot of UV in the HQI light output
when its unfiltered - I just did not know how much
- I was working on one and had my hand about 6 inches
away from it for just a few seconds - SUNBURN CITY -
I even smelled burnt skin - but did not feel it till the next
day

I think once it goes threw all the lens, LCD and stuff its safe
- I think - I still would not look into the light
