Hi!

Finished yesterday!

I've put here a link to auto-translate from portuguese to english ->http://babelfish.altavista.com/babe...po.pt/index.htm

BEWARE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS A BAD TRANSLATION
I NEVER WRITE SO BAD IN ENGLISH ;)

Comments are welcome!

Also, fill out the guestbook ;)

Regards,

Thanks for the replyes!

I've been thinking and I'll improve my rack. First, I'll change the boards from pine to MDF, then... maybe aliminium tubes covering the bars

Why don't you cut the screws on the left?
I have made the same with MDF and 22mm screws. With rounded corners on the wood and I use those "blinded nuts" to sit the rack on the floor.
A cool idea is not to drill the hall from one side to the other at the upper board. So you don't have nuts at the upper side!
:)
If you change the boards use only one from side to side. It'll be more cool.

Because I'm going to split the rack just to put the tv between both sides. And I'll need the entire screws ;) ;)

Yep, the 'shoes' of the rack are very ulgy, I know. They are not definitive. I'm going to turn the screws into spikes ;)

As this is my first rack, it becomes a prototype. I'll been improving it and put here the news

I liked this part of the translation,it seemed fitting-

"the revenge of the nuts started"
audioPT
As you can note, the translation is automatic and I only can tell this:

Some parts are really, really hillarious :D :smash:

I can get outbursts of laughter without control. Some words and phrases that are translated are meaningless, only have a good sense of humor ;) ;)

Like this:
...To the end of more than hour and stocking...
I'll explain:
It was intended to be: ... more than one hour and half ...
In portuguese: ... mais de uma hora e meia ...

But, in portuguese, meia means both half and stocking (for use between feet and shoes) ;) ;)

looks like someone is watching too much home improvement channels :)

great job, won't the spikes damage your floor? and one more thing, pine is much better to look at than MDF.

No, the spikes will be upon little discs with a hole in the center.
About the pine and MDF, yes, pine has a better look, but MDF with pine venner makes the same look and will be more rigid. Don't forget that I'll put the TV on it, and she's fat! 42Kg ;) Pine will break ...

Anyway, thanks for the reply

This is awfully similar to a rack i've built recently, which holds my guitar amp, hi-fi rig and TV. Mine used regular chromed iron poles (used to make hangers in closets) drilled to suport steel rods that hold the wood floors.

I'll try to take a picture today, if my digicam is in the mood for working :( In any case, great job my friend!
