Need parts for Epson ELP 3500 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

I received a Ebay projector, a Epson ELP 3500, and put a new lamp in it. Worked, but the image is blue. Took the thing apart and discovered that although there is a thin polarizing filter just before the LCD module on both the red and green channels, there is none on the blue. I'm assuming there should be.

I've been all over the Epson website looking for info on replacement parts with no luck. I tried to cut a replacement filter from a camera filter but it didn't work well enough. The color is better with it in but not balanced.

If anyone has a sevice manual and can give me a part number for this I would appreciate it. Or perhaps email me the manual as I think in my tinkering I may have mixed up the other polarizing filters as to what direction they go.

Any info appreciated

Thanks,

Mike Maki

Well I got a part number 1031342

Problem is it is not a stock part and, if available will 6-8 weeks delivery and $60.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of an alternative. Does anyone have a parts projector, or know of a repair place that has a projector graveyard?

Or, should I try again to make one? Like I said, I tried one I cut from a camera polarization filter, but it didn't well enough. But that glass was a lot thicker. Where can I get thin polalized glass? Is there anything else unique about it?

Thanks,

Mike
