I have already built a good projector with video tubes, but I would like to make an lcd proj so that I have something smaller and brighter. I already have small lcd to use and lenses, but my only bright source of light is a regular 400W metal halide like is used at warehouses for lighting. Will this work for a light source with a fresnel lens? Also, would a fresnel lens make a good projecting lens for the lcd, or would i bet better off with a real glass lens... I do use a fresnel for the tube projector, and it's pretty good, but I'd imagine a real glass lens would be much better.
