I'm thinking of building the Stereo Amplifier, the Basic Kit. And my first question is if this transformator will work: Link .

The second question is as basic as, what kind of cable for the wiring should I use?

Thanks.

That transformer will work wonderfully.

As for the cabling, I usually use solid core copper wire, sorry to say I don't know the gauge, though. I just have several spools of it lying around the house.

For the signal input cables I use strands of cat 5 cable. Search around and also like ofb said, visit nuuk's site.

solid core! wow, you're not messing around:D

I recommend 18-14AWG stranded wire for all signals and 12-14AWG for power wire. that may be a bit overkill, and not large enough for some, but to each his own. there won't be any NEC wiring codes being violated

Great site! Read through it a couple of times and learned alot, thanks!

Sounds great that the transformer will work, however I found another one with 400VA which costs about 16USD more, would that be a waste of money or would I gain anything?
