When I turn on or off my TV set my loudspeakers POP! :confused:
When someone turns on the light or fan in the bathroom my loudspeakers POP! :confused: :confused:
When I turn on the light in my dining room my loudspeakers, POP! :confused:
Any ideas on how to remove POP from my system???

No, I dont think so.
The amplifier I am using is a Denon.

With the TV thrown in there, it sounds like some sort of wiring problem....either with the amp, or the house wiring.
If were just lights and fans, I'd say your switches were arcing and should be replaced with mercury wetted ones.
Are these all on the same AC circuit? (On the same fuse/circuit breaker)

The TV and amplifier are on the same circuit, and the lights in the other rooms are on their own circuit different from the amplifier/tv.

probably the amp is making the problem , maybe the filter caps are too old .
or maybe its the signal source , disconnect everything from the amp , leave only the speakers and see whats happening . |

Either the POP is coming from the power supply or the input. Does the amp circuit have surge protection? Transient voltage suppressor? Does the amp do this in another house? If not, you may have grounding problems in your house. Does the amp have an earth ground? Maybe the POP is from the preamp?
BTW older TV chasis can create some EMI. Also, when the relay inside the TV drops the horizontal circuit, there may be some extra charge put back onto the neutral line, which should be close to earth ground potential. Does the POP sound have any different between the TV and the lights? |
