I'll cut to the chase, I have an Infocus LP420 that needs a lamp. The LP420 is rated @ 500 Lumens. The next model up is the LP425Z. The LP425Z is rated @ 900 Lumens. The part # for their lamps is similar, so I looked up all the specs I could. They are the same wattage, have the same connector and are identical in size and shape. Would it be possible to put a lamp for the LP425Z in my LP420 and enjoy greater output?
Thanx

i currently own a compaq mp1800 DLP PJ and i have done some testing and the conclusion is that they loose light in favor of the PJ size.
for example, my pj has a light tunnel made from mirrors, additional 2 mirrors and some additional optics just to make it slim.
i've tested it with a 150W halogen and dia projector optics and the lumen output installing this lamp in the place of the original lamp was low, but installing the lamp after the light tunnel and mirrors gave a !! much !! greater light output.
commercial pj also loose lumens in favor of the light uniformity in corners.
I think that DLP pj's are the best for diy. |
