CAD Program for Tubes - Click HERE for Original Thread
Family_Dog
Hi All-

I was wondering if anyone knows of a CAD program which is tube compatible, and either free, or at low-cost.

I am not at all artistic, my hand-drawn straight lines are skew, my resistors look like a drunken worm, my caps are reasonable, and coils & transformers are well-nigh impossible for me to draw freehand.

Tubepad is free and works by using symbold exported into Paint . Do a search on Google , you'll soon find it

If you want real-time Spice simulation for tube projects, check out:

http://www.microcode.com/downloads/student.htm

There are tons of custom made spice models for other tubes available from the web, like from here:

http://home.netcom.com/~wb2jia/tubes/spice.txt

and

http://www.duncanamps.com/spicevalves.html

I have a few too that I should post some day ;)

The PCB cad package Eagle (from www.cadsoft.de) has a free library of tube symbols available for download on their website. :)

Hi Nisbeth,

I gather I would just download what I require from their Libraries in the Downloads section and copy it over to the "Models"Folder. Thanks, am doing so now.
