on me more serious note....Aleph 1.2 CRC pi PSU - Click HERE for Original Thread
Clarkcr
I am contemplating the build of a power suppy for a pair of Aleph 1.2s. I have ordered me PCBs and they are on their way from Kristjen (sp?).

Here is what I be proposing:

Each chassis will hold 2 Avel Lindberg 1000VA transformers then 4 35000 uF filters, then resistor bank, then another bank of caps these being 2 75000 uF capacitors followed by a discrete diode bridge.

I would like to have ample voltage to play with and enough to spare. I want to try to keep the voltage sag accross the rails as low as incidental as possible.

Sorry, for the pirate thread....I know I broke the rules....won't happen again.....had a stressful day.

Chris,

The bridge needs to go before the filter, connected to the output of the transformer.

A single 2KVA txformer and 4*35,000uF bupassed by decent MKP's are more than enough for Aleph 1.2.
Spend your money on heatsinks, use 10 or 8 output mosfets and bias the hell out of it.
Bias is what makes the difference.
