opa548/opa549 gainclone amp - Click HERE for Original Thread

hi everybody

I just got some opa 548 and opa549 from TI; I would like to make a small amplifier with these these chips as they seems to be quite good.

As anyone tried this schematic:
http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/sboa082/sboa082.pdf

else I would like to know what type of power supply to make (size of the transfo, size ofthe capacitors....)

thanks
mandat
Peter Daniel has compared gainclones with OPA549 and LM3875. Quality was approx. the same but OPA gives more "normal sounding", more hi-fi, while LM produces more "magic".
At last he advices LM3875 for gainclone.

Look out for figure 3: the + and - opamp inputs are reversed.

ahhh i hate acrobat...so slow

anyway, I like using national's BPA100 circuit with he 549. About 150-175W output.

well, I think I will give a try tomorrow at the university with the schematic from TI.
For now I will use a lab power supply and think about the "real" power supply after.
