hey guys, i ll receive tomorrow my lm4780 and lm3886 chips, ill goto buy 2 power suply today, an normal and try to find an toroidal ... too.

im looking into both datasheets and i see that the power that i need will be <= 80v.

the question that i want to ask is... is ok an power supply with the primary 220v and secundary +80v?

is ok too primary 220v and secundary -40 and +40 ?

sorry for the dumb question :)

thanks..

I would go for one of about 200 to 300VA with 25-0-25 rails, but if you do a little work and have a look thorough some of the other threads then you will find more than enough info on the best choice for your application.
samsagaz
well i found some post that say that -25/0/+25 is the best choise....

what abt the amps?

how many ampers?

and latest question... if i ll use bridged chips, is ok to use the same power supply?

To open this thread you had to select the option "Have you searched? ".
You lied. :clown:
samsagaz
no dude, i searched, but i dont understand 100% the posts... ppl say diferent things and the posts talk more than just the simple question....

i searched abt ampers without lucky :(

6 - 8 A should be fine. You can go even less if cost an issue.
cowanrg
people are suggesting a 300VA xformer... that means:

25V + 25V = 50V
300VA/50V = 6A

or, you can go the other way.

25V + 25V = 50V
50V * 6A = 300VA.

there you go. now you can figure it out in the future.

thx guys...

cant found toroidal power supply in my country :( i can get an 25+25 normal power supply

it will be ok?

it cost me like 50 U$S :(
samsagaz
btw, when i asked for the power supply they told me that its an 300watts suply, is that ok?
cowanrg
$50 isnt bad. and yes, it will work.

a 300 watt supply is roughly a 300va supply. for a gainclone, you should be fine.
samsagaz
ok ill buy the normal trafo, btw... ill get too much diference using that isntead an toroidal?
samsagaz
thanks again dudes... i need an power supply that support 6A on each rail? or just support 6A on both?

understand me?
Peter Daniel
on both. it doesn't have to be toroid, regular trafo is OK too.
samsagaz
thanks peter....

one last question (before burn my speakers) :D

i have an schematic that use some strange CAP, MKS4CAP and elko5, i cant find that stuff in my country, what other caps can i use??

the schematic say

elko5 68uF 16V
and
MKS4CAP 1uF

btw
300watts power supply = 50v*6Amps => its the power that i need, right? :D

ill buy the power in just 1 hour.....

(they need 1 week to send me the power supply) is not an standar value..
Peter Daniel
Just use any caps that you have (similar value though).

>300watts power supply = 50v*6Amps => its the power that i need, right? <

Yes.
samsagaz
thanks...
