Awful amplifier sound, what is it? - Click HERE for Original Thread

When I listen to music at almost any level with my fairly cheap amplifier, every time there is a bass sound all the mid and high frequencies are attenuated by at least half. How come this can occur at any volume level, do I just have a very low quality transistor amplifier? can't it distribute the power properly across the frequency spectrum? It is a run-of-the-mill hitatchi tuner amplifier from a long time back.

Hi !

It simply might have come into old age...
Maybe some caps have extremely degenerated ?
