Zone Labs is offering their "Pestware" free -- at least that portion which checks your machine for spyware and cookies -- I use their blocking software (was recommended in the New York Times last winter). Of course you'll have to pay for a subscription if you want to be updated and have your machine scrubbed, but a free examination for spyware is pretty useful. You can always change your registry and delete cookies and tracking software manually.
