I am rebuilding a Marantz 2330B receiver that has the original toshiba output transistors , I am collecting parts presently ;considering 1 channel has shorted outputs. I could source the original type , but am concerned about getting fakes. Is the MJ 15024 or MJ15016 a decent sub? Having trouble finding details on the originals.
Thanks

If you can get your hand on some MJ 21195/96's you won't go wrong. I've used them in numerous amps and have nothing but praises for these new beauties.. They are just fantasic audio transistors.

Hello gents,

I only can confirm that the MJ 21195/21196 are perfect substitutes for your originals. I have used MJ21193/21194 which have slightly lower SOA in several Sony and Technics Amps successfully.
Due to my information the originals do have a wider bandwith but it seems to be more forgiving to use slower substitutes than faster ones.

If you cant get the MJ21195/96 get some MJ15024/25 which are easily available everywhere and are used lots in amp output stages.. They may have a low bandwith but are more then acceptable...
