Hi,
first of all this is a great forum !! I've learned soo much by searching and reading. :)
Ok, now on with my problem.... I found this 5.6" lcd TFT monitor stored in my home... so I went out and tried it... when I got the video input, the image was not good at all.... so I opened it and played with the ribbon a bit, and that seemed to help the screen, and for a second the picture would be perfect. :) but after trying that for a little while, now there is no video signal at all.... so I am afraid the ribbon cable is broken and I need to replace it.
The ribbon cable says "AWM 2896 80C VW-1 SWCC SHOWA" it is white with blue ends on one side and seems to have around 30 filament ends on each side...
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. |

My ribbon cable have the pins on opposite sides - but they have a cable like that there too.

...So there I was, all excited and everything.... until I went and measured my ribbon cable.... it's got 30 pins and its width is 31mm ..... the one they have in the website is 20mm...... :confused: would that still work?

but they don't look a lot like the cable I have.....
any suggestions ??? Maybe if someone here was willing to sell me one that is not used.... that would be really nice. :angel: |

Heya buddy darn, ok, hey did you run up a search in the forum? there should be a tonne of threads with this gear in it, i recall seeing some about 4 pages back. There are quite a few places that do the cables , some even give them away for free as samples though i cant remeber their name off hand, run up a search and you will find them forsure.

YES, I have searched.....
I even went to this website, www.digikey.com but when I tried to browse the catalog I didn't have a clue about what to look for... http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSe...US&Cat=30409438
Most of the search results I see are about Lilliput's... and to make it even worse, I can't seem to win any 5'' lcd auction I've bidded on...... :bawling:
