I have a JVC BR-S611U Pro SVHS recorder up for grabs. It has a problem with the servo, and with my recent acquisition of 2 Panasonic decks (AG-1970 and AG-1980), I no longer need it, nor can I afford the repair. At power up, both the take-up and supply reels begin spinning and will not stop. The repairman replaced one board, but that did not fix it. It does not give an error code, and the unit itself believes it is working correctly.
A new audio board was installed by JVC in 1998 after a hum developed in that channel. They also installed an updated firmware and went over it thoroughly.
Also included is a RM-G410U remote console and 45-pin connector cable (the cable alone was $200).
This is a pro-grade deck meant to last and features superior build quality. It has less than 1000 hour use.
I would like to get $300 for it, as it is worth twice that in parts alone, but I would also be willing to exchange it for any of the following items. It is just taking up space for me right now.
Will trade for:
-Panasonic AG-1960 in working order
-Sony SLV-R5UC in working order
-Apple Power Macintosh 9600 in working condition
-Apple Power Macintosh 9500 with CPU upgrade in working condition
-Any 180MHz+ Power Macintosh clone based on the Power PC 604 CPU
-harman/kardon 630 or 730 receiver in working condition
