Does a port have to be in the front of the box with the woofer, or can it be mounted anywhere on the box? I want to mount my port
which is 2in diameter 9in long in the side of my wedge box im almost done building. Will it work? I currently had it planned out to be tuned to 32hz with that port on the side, but now i dont know if it will work that way. I havnt cut the whole yet so i can still use as a sealed box. Another option is to tune at 37hz, 2in diam. 7in long and beable to mount it in the front. Im really aiming for 32hz. Thx. Btw, the box is for 2 subs(10's), in seperated chambers, one being ported, other one sealed( for now atleast).

Generally you want to keep the port as close to the speaker as possible, but because your box isn't "huge" you can really put it anywhere you want.

so as long as its close to the speaker, its fine?

Do a "Google" search for winisd. Its a program (freeware btw) that will help you design your box and calculates the port size and dimensions needed. Just type in your speakers parameters (ts) and desired Hz level....and wala!
