Subwoofer Driver Wire - Click HERE for Original Thread
tcowden
Hi,

Newbie here, with a quick question.

What is the preferred type of wire to connect a subwoofer driver's voicecoils to a terminal cup?

Do you just use the same speaker wire that you use from the terminals to the amp, or do you use solid core, or something else?

TIA,

Tom

Use whatever you have around. For the low frequencies, inductance (creating rolloff in the highs) is not an issue. Thicker wire is (theoretically) better, but for such short lengths as from a driver to the terminal, it does not matter.

any clean wire of reasonable guage will work (22+GA isnt reccomended).
If its old make sure there isnt any corrosion or other nastyness on it.

Although attaching 10-12ga stranded wire to a driver terminal can get rather challenging...........
