I wonder if there's any source about the additional noise that the usual pots induce!
All I could find on the subject was the calculation of general resistor noise (Johnson noise), but I couldn't find data how various resistor types (I think most audio pots are carbon types) compare.
I'd definitely like to know a way to calculate or estimate the pot noise to see if I could use a pot in my mic preamp or if I better switch between resistors to keep the noise low.
