hello eveerybody
guys i wanna know if bridged opa541 can handle 8ohm speaker (not paralelled ) with max voltage supply (+-40V) without overheating
also
i read the whole datasheets and found nothing about thermal protection , so i guess there is no thermal protection , right? |

Never use max. voltage on a power op-amp.
It will overheat.
Does true 8 ohm speakers still exist?
Speakers always have impedance dips across the range, some 8 ohm speakers can have impedance dips to as low as 3 ohms, usually in the bass, and specially bass-refex speakers.
I would use the 541 at +/- 30~32v, no more.
With two chips, I would prefer to parallel than bridge them.
Or bridge-parallel, but that's 4 chips per channel minimum.:D |

i guess its better to use the opa549 with ~28V supplies |

Hi
Oh  minimum 4 chips per channel.
I cannot build the high watts amplifier because my loudspeakers are just 100W :bawling: |
