Where to place the amps in bi-amped/tri-amped - Click HERE for Original Thread

I've been investigating this a bit, and some people reccomend building the amps into the speaker boxes, other people don't. With Tri-amping, their will be a 3 way electronic crossover- if I built the amps nto the boxes, the crossover should go with them, shouldnt it- leaving just the pre-amp as a seperate component?

On a similar note, what do people think of the Jaycar 3 way electronic crossover, or Jaycar audio kits in general?

The amps can go wherever you want to put them. Personally, I wouldn't put them into the speaker, for two reasons:

1) If I want to change amplifiers, I have to rip apart the speakers.
2) There's a lot of vibration in the bass speakers, I don't like that with an amplifier.

Other than that, I'd think its more a matter of personal preference.

As to Jaycar kits, I'm not in Australia, so don't know.
