output level of soundcard? - Click HERE for Original Thread
demons_wing
would anyone know what the output level of a soundcard is?

Depends on the type really; my onboard SiS sound adapter it's said to deliver 1v P-P. It can drive headphones directly, so i presume it's a bit more, but i never got arround to measure it.

Hi

Loosely depends on what soundcard it is, however if its output is called 'line out' then chances are it will be at around 'line level' which is around 1v as described by Lisandro.
For actual measurement clarification, my audigy (no laughing please) gives around 1.3v RMS at maximum volume.

Hope that helps
Nik
