i found a little bit about it on the net. to set up with a Parallel Port
is there any other uses like say a cd player? just wondering
i have a box full all new.
This looks like one of the LCDs using a HD44780 controller or compatible. Do a search for Hitachi's datasheet and you will see how to hook it up to any parallel port.
There are countless source code examples out there on the net for accessing them from anything (4 bit microcontrollers to PCs) - also I remember a chinese website where they used it as the display for a computer CD-ROM drive based CD-Player.
