CD player analog output voltage level - Click HERE for Original Thread

What is the correct analog output voltage level from a CD player? I'm building a DAC these days and I have some problems setting the right gain in the output drivers.

I read on a web page that I am not able to retrieve, that the full-scale signal on the phono plug is 2Vrms. (Which is +-2.828Vpp ?) Do I remember correctly?

I have a differential filter circuit with xlr outputs where I use the hot signal for the phono plug as well. Should I use 2Vrms on hot and -2Vrms on cold as maximum output level?

Greetings,

Børge
