Help my 98 Frontier - Click HERE for Original Thread
muskgrave
Hello everyone, I recently bought a 98 frontier and it came with a stereo "system" already installed. The problem is most of it is junk. It's a BOSS 500W (MAX i'm sure) amp and some even worse 8" subs in the back. I want to just sell the amp/subs/box and just get a GOOD set of speakers for the doors. The doors will accept 6.75" speakers. I was looking at the following:

Door Speakers:
INFINITY KAPPA 62.5i 6.5" SPEAKERS
Freq. Range: 45hz - 21khz (is this true???)
Continuous Power Handling: 75W

Amp:
CLARION APA250
Continuous Output Power @ 4 Ohms Stereo: 50 Watts (rms) x 2

I would probably get some foam baffles as well. Would I be doing myself a great disservice by only putting 50W to these speakers? I realize they won't play at their max volume but in such small cab I don't think thats a big deal..just dont want to hurt them any..so what do you think???

Thanks
