I noticed a while ago that someone was trying to make a projector with an array of ultra bright LEDs, but failed. Has anyone since succeded, as it would be great for heat and amout of hours the last.
I found this link to an electronics store thats selling a LED that offers up to 120 lumes and little to no heat. Wouldn't a few of these do the trick?

If these would be any good please tell me
>i'm not sure what the fancy thing around it is, but i think you could take the led from the center? |

| Most here are using a 20000 - 35000 lm light source. You would need a whole lot of leds which drives the price way too high. |

| how do lcd projectors (retail) work with only around 600 ANSI? |

| 600 ANSI is a very low rating, and equates to about 6000 lm at the bulb (once the effect of all the light losses are considered). Most modern commercial projectors have more like 2000 ANSI which equates to 20000 lm |
