bernhard?

Bernhard is the one that did not believe in fakes. Can't imagine he is the one selling those fakes ;)
Bernhard
This one comes from a Philips CDXXX :D
jean-paul
You missed the ;) in my post.

Mmm,

Expected a bit of discussion. Some comments:

- It is a TDA1541 without A, never heard of them being selected.
- It is not in the datasheet either (but so is S2, N1/S1 are in the
'A' datasheet).
- The S1 print is very neat compared to what we've seen so far
on the other examples.
- If it existed, i would have expected my CD650 to have one. It
was in it's days the best philips player (before the 960 etc).

Any thoughts

My conclusion now is :dead:

Wouldn't you also have expected a cdm1 in your plastic cd650 ???
tifosi_f1
I'm sure as the chip comes from a Philips cdp it will be genuine!

Either that or Philips is involved in a complex conspiricy to confuse and divide diyaudio members  ;)
guido
No,

A metal transport would not have matched with the plastic player's case :xeye:

One is cost reduction, the other is marketing!

Who says it comes from a philips player ???

TDA1541 S1 selektierter DAC chip, gebraucht, getestet, und ok. Passt in gute alte Philips Player wie CD304mkII oder CD650. Privatverkauf ohne Garantie.

>> selected dac chip, used, tested and ok.
fits in good old ph player like .. or ...
privatesale without garantee

Would be nice to know what player, if it is genuine. We can ask around here then with other people with that player to check.
I would even be interested then to place a bid, but i guess i
wont be the only one then :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

guido, what do you want? should we tell you to bid or not?

as far as i know you can find measurements with that chip in this board, bernhard posted them. i think he sells it beacuse it does not sound better to him than a normal "A" . But it starts at 1€ and moment the cheapest source i know for 1541A is about 6€....

to make it easier for you i´ll place a bid.
janneman
Not being familiar with fake numbering, but that 'S1' looks like it has been put on afterwards by hand. Or is that normal?
The chip numbering itself (Philips logo etc) looks genuine. So I guess the question is not, is it Philips, but is it really 'selected', no?

if you would fake DACs, would you fake a TDA1541 - no A - S1, or would you fake double crowns?
Bernhard
Hey, nobody read my post ?

I have written that this chip is ripped off a Philips CDP.

Search the forum...
guido
Ah,

Things are falling into place... I did not know that it was Bernhard selling. Seems i should be sleeping at night, instead of surfing with a sleepy head...

Back to my 'points':

- it's not in the datasheet: would not be a first..

- never seen a marked TDA1541: Guess i did not pay attention
enough to earlier posts. Searched a bit for the measurements, but did not find it. But saw a picture with a marked TDA1541 in it. It was marked R1, guess that is genuine :D

- Not in my 650: so another one, interesting. Cant come up with a number..

Anyway,

Bernhard, sorry for acusing you. Good luck with your selling.
Hope you get more than 1 euro.. Wont place a bit myself; i don't have a player to upgrade ;)
Bernhard
Don't have a 650 ?

Searching is difficult: too many hits on TDA1541 or on Bernhard
:D :D Still trying to figure out which player :clown:
Bernhard
Maybe I will sell much more chips in the future, got a Kenwood CDP with PCM56, and it measures better then 1541 in Philips CDP.
Overall distortion is better while noise is a little worse.

I recently opened one of my older Marantz CD players and to my amazement found a TDA1541 S1 (no A).
poynton
HI.

I had the same in a CD273 special edition.
A second CD273 I had was only a common TDA1541
