How flat will a typical gainclone measure into a fixed load, like an 8 ohm resistor at moderate voltage levels? I know what national's spec sheets say about their chips, I'd be interested in more measurements though.

The datasheet is pretty accurate.

Here are some measurements of a LM3886 amp. Look at the pictures at the bottom. 0.45/rise time = bandwidth
